VISAGAR HAVELI JODHPUR
HERITAGE STYLE RESIDENTIAL ARCHITECTURE, JODHPUR
Visagar Haveli in Jodhpur is a contemporary residential project by Oreira Studio, rooted in the architectural language of Rajasthan and reinterpreted for modern living. Designed as a courtyard-centric home, the project integrates traditional elements such as chhajjas, arched openings, and perforated jali screens to create a climate-responsive and culturally grounded environment.
The residence reflects a balance between heritage-inspired design and contemporary spatial needs, resulting in a home that is both timeless and contextually relevant.

Spatial Planning & Funtionality :
The courtyard plays a critical role in enhancing environmental performance. It brings natural light into the interiors, enables cross ventilation, and helps regulate temperature throughout the day.
A sequence of shaded verandahs, semi-open passages, and layered thresholds creates a transition from public to private spaces, ensuring both comfort and spatial hierarchy.

Materiality draws from the local context, with a warm palette that includes natural stone, textured finishes, and handcrafted elements. These materials not only enhance durability but also add depth and character to the space.
Elements such as jali screens, arches, and chhajjas are carefully detailed to provide shading, privacy, and visual richness while maintaining a cohesive architectural language.
The built form balances solid and void, creating a façade that responds to both the street and the internal life of the house. Openings are strategically positioned to maintain privacy while allowing visual connectivity and airflow.
The integration of landscape elements further enhances the spatial experience, softening the built edges and reinforcing the connection between architecture and nature.
Visagar Haveli represents a synthesis of traditional planning principles and contemporary living requirements. The project reflects Oreira Studio’s approach to designing homes that are climate-responsive, culturally grounded, and architecturally refined.
It stands as a contemporary interpretation of haveli architecture, adapted to modern lifestyles while preserving its timeless essence.
